“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4:5)

Dave and Kathie have been in full time ministry through the local church for over 40 years, focusing on a ministry of outreach to care for the spiritual needs of God’s family. Visiting, encouraging and building up others to be faithful followers and servants of Christ, offering Biblical life counseling, as well as comforting the bereaved are notable ways Dave and Kathie serve together. With a focus on the church body that is in the second half of life, especially grandparents, their goal is to convince, equip and inspire grandparents to intentionally share a legacy of faith with the next generations.

We cherish our three children, their spouses, and six grandchildren and are blessed to have them all living close by in Alberta. In fact, our favourite pastime is our grandchildren!

We, along with a God focused team of advisors, long to see grandparents disciple their grandchildren and to realize in full measure the influence, love, and continuing care God desires us to have in the spiritual lives of our families.

Member of CGNC Advisory Board and Head of Grandparents at Prayer (G@P) Ministry
Laurel has been married for almost 30 years, and has a son and daughter attending the University of Calgary. She is delighted with this season of life where her adult family is living under the same roof. She doesn’t have grandchildren yet, and is quite content to wait several years to enjoy that milestone.
Laurel is a full-time teacher, and is currently employed teaching high school at a local private school for students with Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
Laurel grew up in the beautiful Fraser Valley, BC, attended Bible school in Saskatchewan, where she met her husband from rural Alberta. She is delighted that Calgary has been their home for over 20 years. Whether viewing the Rocky Mountains from a local park bench, or far preferred, hiking them, Laurel loves her alone time outdoors, communing with her Creator.

Roger and Deborah have been married for 43 years, have one son, a wonderful daughter-in-law and three delightful grandchildren.  They are very blessed to live very close to their grandchildren and see them often.  Nothing gives them more pleasure than seeing the light in their grandkids’ eyes when Papa and Nanny arrive for a “play date”.

Roger spent many years working in the oil and gas industry and then in residential real estate.  He is now retired from full-time work, loves to cook and to discuss all things “cars” and “football” with his son.

Deb also worked in the oil and gas industry (yes, she and Roger met at work!).  She is retired from full-time work, and now serves on two corporate boards as a director.  Deb likes to bake and paint in her spare time.

Roger and Deb have lived in Calgary, Dallas, Houston and London, UK, and are happy to be back in Calgary to spend time with their kids and grandkids.
